A major breakthrough! Yangzi Petrochemical produces qualified EVA products
After the Yangzi Petrochemical EVA plant started to open up the whole process on March 3, 2021, all the personnel of the plant continued their efforts. After more than two months of hard work, they successfully produced qualified EVA products on May 6.
The production of qualified EVA products by Yangzi Petrochemical marks the successful start-up of the EVA device, and has achieved an important breakthrough in the field of structural differentiation of plastic products, and has taken a key step on the new journey of "basic + high-end".
The device adopts Lyondell Basel's cauldron process and is Sinopec's first 100,000-ton/year production device.
Yangzi Petrochemical attaches great importance to the stimulating effect of product upgrades brought about by the construction of EVA equipment, optimizes resource allocation, and promotes the simultaneous upgrading of equipment construction and production management capabilities. The successful start-up of the EVA device will make a strong contribution to Sinopec's establishment of a "one base, two wings, three new" industrial structure and speed up the establishment of a world-leading clean energy chemical company.
February 26: The device completed the purge and airtight work of the entire system.
March 3rd: The device started up smoothly through the whole process and produced qualified LDPE products.
May 6: Qualified EVA products were successfully produced. At present, the device is operating stably and the predetermined target has been achieved.
Introduction to EVA
EVA is an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, a synthetic material that is currently in short supply in China.
Compared with polyethylene products, EVA introduces VA monomers in the molecular chain, thereby reducing crystallinity, improving flexibility, impact resistance, filler compatibility and heat sealing performance.
EVA products have the characteristics of heat insulation, heat preservation, shock resistance, non-absorption, etc., and are widely used in photovoltaic film, foaming, coating, packaging film, hot melt adhesive, cables and toys.
About Yangzi Petrochemical EVA device
Yangzi Petrochemical's EVA plant adopts Lyondell Basel’s kettle method technology with a design capacity of 100,000 tons/year. The device is characterized by high operating pressure, multiple interlocking points, and difficult operation. It is the first ultra-high pressure device of Yangzi Petrochemical Corporation. It is also one of the few devices of the same kind in the world and lacks experience to learn from.
Before starting the installation, Yangzi Petrochemical continued to optimize the skills training program, organized the installation personnel training, internships, on-the-job training, on-the-job examinations and other operational skills training, and accelerated the digestion of patents, design institutes and equipment suppliers' information, and completed technical data and plans. , The compilation, review and approval of training materials provide strong technical and technical support for the successful start-up of the device.
Yangzi Petrochemical’s various functional departments communicate closely with the EVA device, actively organize the preparations for the device’s feeding and start-up, and do a good job in "three checks and four determinations", stand-alone test run, cleaning and purging, etc., to ensure the orderly development of linked test runs and feeding Drive.
The ultra-high pressure device has extremely high requirements for equipment installation, purging, and air tightness. During the drive, Yangzi Petrochemical organized meticulously and worked step by step to overcome one problem after another, overcome one difficulty after another, and finally realized the successful driving of the device.
