Evonik Launches Natural Products CapilAcid Conditioner and Oleobiota Sebum Regulator
Evonik has expanded its portfolio of natural active ingredients with two new botanical ingredients, CapilAcid for hair care and Oleobiota for sebum control. The company recently highlighted the ingredients, which were derived from Evonik’s acquisition of Novachem and integrated into Evonik’s Care Solutions business.
CapilAcid Antioxidant is derived from Chilean wineberries. The company reports that the ingredient acts as a “full protector from root to tip of hair, acting as a powerful antioxidant.” The product is said to perform well in acidic formulas, protecting hair from exposure-induced stress and promoting overall hair health.
Olebiota Skin Sebum Normalizer, Pore Minimizer is sustainably sourced from Ñangapirí leaves from the Misiones rainforest. It can be used to regulate sebum and mattify combination and oily skin while minimizing the appearance of pores.
According to the company, the ingredient was developed in accordance with the Nagoya Protocol and is intended to support biodiversity.
Evonik stressed that its Botanicals and Natural Active Ingredients division plays an important role in expanding the company's portfolio of bio-solutions. By transforming phytochemicals from plants into skin and hair care benefits, Evonik supports customers in meeting the demand for sustainable, scientifically substantiated beauty and personal care products.
"Novachem enables us to enhance our product offerings and offer our customers even more unique sustainable solutions," said Ute Schick, head of Evonik's Care Solutions business.
