Seppic Opens New Laboratory Dedicated to Fermentation Biotechnology in the United States
To meet the evolving needs of its customers, Seppic will open a new laboratory dedicated to fermentation biotechnology at the Air Liquide Delaware Innovation Park. With nearly 15% of its employees dedicated to research and innovation, Seppic continuously invests in creating unique, conscious and high-performance ingredients.
Fermentation is a process traditionally used to produce and preserve food. Applied to the cosmetics and health markets, this technology enables the production of bio-based ingredients with limited impact on the environment and biodiversity, while minimizing the impact on land use. The laboratory’s goal is to develop new ingredients that combine efficacy and address societal challenges in the cosmetics and health sectors, in line with the company’s approach dedicated to innovation.
Seppic’s US Customer Technical Service Center has been located at the Delaware Innovation Park since 2007, and the choice of this location will allow Seppic to benefit from strong synergies with the Air Liquide Park’s R&D activities and the vibrant US research ecosystem in the field of biotechnology. The opening of the laboratory in the United States is an important step in Seppic’s internationalization strategy for research and innovation.
Hannes Moeller, CEO of Seppic, said: “Following the opening of a new R&D facility at our Castres, France site in 2024, Seppic will continue to invest in its future by establishing a laboratory in the United States. This will allow us to continue innovating the performance of our ingredients by meeting market needs.”
