According to recent statistics from the Titanium Dioxide Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, there are 42 titanium dioxide production companies with normal operating conditions in 2024 (excluding post-processing firms). These companies produced a total of 4.766 million tons of rutile and anatase titanium dioxide and related products, an increase of 606,000 tons, reflecting a 14.57% growth compared to the previous year.
Of the total production volume of 4.766 million tons, rutile products accounted for the majority at 4.051 million tons, making up 85% of the total, though this represents a decline of 1.54 percentage points from last year. Anatase products reached 560,000 tons, comprising 11.75% of the total, marking an increase of 1.64 percentage points. Non-pigment and other types of products totaled 156,000 tons, representing 3.27%, down by 0.1 percentage points.
The chloride process products amounted to 663,000 tons, a decrease of 29,000 tons from the previous year, which corresponds to a 4.19% decline. This is the first annual drop in chloride production in recent years. In 2024, chloride products accounted for 13.91% of the total titanium dioxide production, down 2.72 percentage points year-on-year, and 16.37% of rutile production, also down 2.85 percentage points.
