Belarus Becomes the 14th Beef Import Access Country of China

ECHEMI 2019-03-15

A batch of frozen beef from Belarus was officially introduced into the Chinese market on February 14 by the "Inspection and Quarantine Certificate of Inbound Goods" issued by the Shanghai Airport Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.

This is the first batch of Belarusian beef to be transported to China after the signing of the Protocol on Inspection and Quarantine and Veterinary Health Requirements for Frozen Beef from Belarus in 2017. Belarus has become the 14th beef import country in China. The head of Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau said that the successful transportation of the first batch of frozen beef from Belarus to China was an important manifestation of the deepening cooperation between China and Belarus in the field of quality inspection, which gave a positive signal to the recently cooled European beef market. It is expected that the contradiction between insufficient supply of imported beef and high price in the Chinese market will be alleviated to a certain extent with the mass entry of high-quality beef from Belarus.
