Arkema Reports 2024 Revenue of €9.5 Billion Amid Economic Challenges

ECHEMI 2025-03-03

Arkema has announced its 2024 financial results, reporting a solid revenue of €9.5 billion. The company demonstrated resilience in a challenging macroeconomic environment, achieving a slight increase in EBITDA to €1.53 billion, with an EBITDA margin of 16.1%. This performance reflects Arkema's adaptability and strength.

CEO Thierry Le Hénaff expressed gratitude to the team for effectively navigating the severe economic and geopolitical challenges of the past year. He highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, which remains at the heart of their strategy. Arkema is also progressing on significant projects in Asia and North America, which are expected to play crucial roles moving forward.

In 2024, Arkema made notable strides in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), particularly in areas such as safety, climate action, and diversity, achieving several long-term goals ahead of schedule. The completion of the acquisition of Dow’s soft packaging adhesive business in December marked a significant step in enhancing the company’s adhesive solutions segment.

Looking ahead, despite the ongoing uncertainties in the macroeconomic landscape and weak demand at the start of the year, Arkema aims to leverage its balanced geographic presence and diverse end markets. The company plans to maintain strict cost controls and operational management.

With recent investments in key growth projects, including acquisitions in polyimide and adhesives, as well as expanded capacity in advanced materials, Arkema is positioned for strong growth. The geographical sales structure is expected to optimize further, with North America potentially reaching 40% of total sales, while Asia and other regions could contribute around 35% and Europe about 25%.

For 2025, Arkema aims to increase EBITDA to between €1.53 billion and €1.67 billion, depending on macroeconomic conditions. The first quarter is projected to be slightly lower than the previous year, but the company expects to benefit from steady growth in specialty materials, contributing an additional €100 million to EBITDA compared to 2024.
