BASF Appoints Heather Remley as New CEO Amid Leadership Changes Effective April 2025

ECHEMI 2025-03-12

On March 5, BASF announced that Heather Remley, currently the President of Global Engineering Services, will take over as the new President and CEO at BASF’s Florham Park, New Jersey location starting April 1, 2025. This decision follows the voluntary departure of Marc Ehrhardt, who has chosen to leave the company after nearly 30 years of service, including just six months as President and CEO.

Remley has been with BASF for eight years and has spent the last five years leading the Global Engineering Services division. Prior to this role, she served as the Senior Vice President of North American Petrochemicals for BASF in Houston, Texas, for three years. Her extensive career also includes 26 years at Air Products, where she held various positions.

Stepping into Remley’s former role will be Christian Aucoin, who has been with BASF for 11 years and most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Global Agricultural Solutions Operations for the past two years.

This leadership transition marks a significant change for BASF as it continues to navigate the evolving landscape of the chemical industry. The company looks forward to leveraging Remley’s expertise and vision to drive future growth and innovation.
