Leadership Change at Ingevity as David H. Li Appointed CEO
On March 10, 2025, Ingevity announced the appointment of David H. Li as the new President and CEO, effective April 7, 2025. He will join the board of directors after the annual meeting in 2025, succeeding Luis Fernandez-Moreno, who has served as interim President and CEO since October 2024. Fernandez-Moreno will remain a member of Ingevity's board.
David H. Li brings over 25 years of experience in the specialty materials industry. He most recently served as CEO, President, and board member of CMC Materials, Inc., a global advanced materials supplier focused on the semiconductor and energy sectors, which was sold to Entegris, Inc. in 2022.
Ingevity Board Chair Jean Blackwell stated, “David H. Li has a proven track record of repositioning businesses across product lines and regions for significant growth and strong financial performance.” His ability to drive strategic execution and organizational excellence makes him the ideal leader for Ingevity, positioning the company to maximize its potential as a world-class specialty chemicals and materials manufacturer.
David H. Li expressed, “I am honored to take on the role of President and CEO at this pivotal time for Ingevity. My career success has come from building high-performance teams and reshaping portfolios to address customer challenges.” He looks forward to leveraging his experience to unlock Ingevity's value and achieve sustainable long-term growth.
Jean Blackwell also acknowledged Luis Fernandez-Moreno for his contributions as interim CEO, highlighting his strategic initiatives that improved operational performance and free cash flow. “His insights will continue to benefit Ingevity as he remains on the board,” Blackwell added.
