Over 5 Million Hectares Impacted as Sumitomo Showcases Game-Changing Crop Solutions at 2025 Show Safra

ECHEMI 2025-04-09

At the 2025 Show Safra in Mato Grosso, Brazil, Sumitomo Chemical unveiled a robust portfolio of innovative agricultural products aimed at addressing modern growers’ challenges while advancing sustainable farming practices.

Among the highlights was ZethaMaxx EVO®, a newly launched broad-spectrum selective herbicide designed for pre-emergence use in soybeans. Formulated as a suspension emulsion, it combines three active ingredients with multiple modes of action, offering exceptional control over broadleaf and grass weeds. Its long-lasting residual activity reduces weed competition, optimizing yields in soy, cotton, corn, and legumes.

Also introduced was Kaiso Max®, an advanced insecticide targeting piercing and sucking pests like stink bugs. Known for its dual action mechanism, it delivers immediate knockdown and extended control across corn, soy, and sugarcane fields.

Sumitomo’s acclaimed Excalia Max® fungicide—already applied on over 5 million hectares—was spotlighted for its superior control of soybean diseases, including Asian rust and target spot. With indiflin (inpyrfluxam) and tebuconazole, it not only combats key pathogens but also supports resistance management.

For cotton growers, Pladius® fungicide offers powerful defense against leaf spot diseases, which can slash yields by up to 70%. Meanwhile, Aveo® EZ, a biological seed treatment, forms a protective root symbiosis that wards off nematodes, enhancing soil health.

To further boost sustainability, MycoApply EndoFuse® and EndoMaxx® were presented as biologicals to improve soil bio-quality. Additionally, Sumitomo’s Soja+ and Milho+ precision management programs provide tailored agronomic strategies for soy and corn growers to optimize productivity throughout flowering to harvest.

Through these forward-looking solutions, Sumitomo Chemical reaffirms its leadership in agricultural innovation and its commitment to sustainable food systems.
