AkzoNobel Expands Partnership with Signify to Supply Powder Coatings
Dutch coatings giant AkzoNobel is expanding its partnership with global lighting leader Signify. In the future, AkzoNobel will continue to supply Interpon F powder coatings for Philips LED outdoor luminaires.
Building on the already strong relationship between the two parties, AkzoNobel will supply Interpon F products for Philips LED consumer outdoor luminaires from Signify. Designed for outdoor applications, the coatings were selected after extensive testing to prove their durability and come with a ten-year light-retention warranty.
"Durability and weatherproofing are essential to the performance of our outdoor luminaires. This advanced PowerShield coating ensures durability and prevents long-term product failures, even in adverse weather conditions," explains Philips Lighting Product Manager Yi Yonglan.
"As a result, our products will be replaced less frequently, which reduces the resources needed for manufacturing. We are pleased to be working with AkzoNobel, a company that shares our commitment to minimizing environmental impact. Using high-quality components is essential to creating more durable and beautiful lighting solutions for brighter lives and a better world."
"We are excited to further expand our partnership with this global leader in lighting and to make our advanced technology and expertise available to them," adds Jeff Jirak, Business Director Powder Coatings at AkzoNobel. "Our pursuit of excellence never stops and strengthening our partnership with Signify reflects our commitment to playing a positive and collaborative role in helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals, such as extending the life of their products."
Interpon F is known for its superior performance in extreme conditions, with excellent UV durability and color retention. It retained 90% of its gloss after 1,000 hours of 3GU testing, which measures the amount of UV energy a coating can withstand over a certain period of time.
