320000 Tons Emissions Cut Project Signed as China’s Tianchen Powers Kazakhstan with Green Breakthrough
China National Chemical Engineering Tianchen Company (TCC) has made a major leap in the Central Asian energy market by signing an EPC contract with Kazakhstan’s ERG Group for a groundbreaking waste gas power generation project. The deal, formalized in Astana on May 21, marks the first cooperation milestone between TCC and ERG, and more importantly, the first tail gas recovery power project in Central Asia.
The project targets the Aktobe Ferroalloy Plant, aiming to transform its production emissions into a clean energy source. Leveraging TCC’s proprietary technology, the facility will recycle industrial exhaust into electricity, demonstrating cutting-edge environmental innovation.
Once operational, the plant is projected to save 200 million cubic meters of natural gas annually and cut CO₂ emissions by 320,000 tons each year. Beyond energy efficiency, this initiative supports Kazakhstan’s ambition to transition to green, low-carbon development and significantly reduce industrial emissions.
More than just infrastructure, the initiative showcases the “T+EPC” business model—a strategic blend of technology leadership and full-process engineering management. By applying this model, TCC reaffirms its strength in green energy projects while also promoting sustainable cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
The project’s success is expected to establish TCC as a benchmark in Kazakhstan’s clean energy sector, enhance China National Chemical Engineering’s footprint across Central Asia, and underline the global competitiveness of Chinese engineering solutions.
