EU Delays Approval of Polyvinylpyrrolidone Iodine for Biocidal Products in Product Types 1 and 3
According to the Official Journal of the European Union, on May 26, 2025, the European Commission issued Regulation (EU) 2025/951, delaying the approval of polyvinylpyrrolidone iodine for use in biocidal products of product types 1 and 3. This regulation will take effect on the twentieth day following its publication.
As per the regulation, the approval period for polyvinylpyrrolidone iodine has been postponed until February 29, 2028.
