Toray Establishes Water Technology Center in Saudi Arabia
Toray Industries, Inc. announced that Toray Membrane Middle East Company (TMME) officially opened the Middle East Water Technology Center (MEWTEC) in Dammam, Saudi Arabia in April. The new center provides integrated technical services from membrane to full-process treatment.
MEWTEC is committed to meeting the growing water demand in the Middle East, Africa and surrounding regions, while also meeting the growing demand for advanced wastewater reuse and desalination technologies for industry and urban infrastructure.
Providing clean water is at the core of the Toray Group's sustainable development vision. This vision represents the world roadmap of the Toray Group's Vision 2050 and embodies the "Toray Vision 2030" that the Group strives for solid and sustainable growth. Toray will continue to provide advanced reverse osmosis and other membrane technologies and strengthen its technical services in regions with growing water demand. This will help address water shortage issues around the world, including in the increasingly industrialized and densely populated Middle East and Africa.
The center is equipped with the latest water quality analysis instruments and reverse osmosis membrane evaluation equipment. It disassembles and inspects returned membrane modules and conducts detailed analysis of operating water quality to quickly identify the cause of the problem and make suggestions for improvement.
The center provides a platform for joint experiments and R&D with universities, research institutions and customers, aiming to promote technical cooperation and contribute to the medium- and long-term development of water treatment technology throughout the Middle East.
