India Imposes Five Year Anti Dumping Duties on Vitamin A Palmitate from China EU and Switzerland
On June 6, 2025, India’s Ministry of Finance announced the imposition of five-year anti-dumping duties on Vitamin A Palmitate originating from China, Switzerland, and the EU, following a positive final ruling by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on March 10, 2025.
The duties are as follows:
- China: $14.95/kg for Shangyu NHU Bio-Chem Co., Ltd., and $20.87/kg for other producers.
- Switzerland: $0.87/kg for DSM Nutritional Products Limited, and $8.2/kg for other producers.
- EU: $11.09/kg for all producers.
The product in question includes Vitamin A Palmitate at 1.7 MIU/Gm and 1.0 MIU/Gm concentrations, regardless of stabilization, but excludes 1.6 MIU/Gm formulations used for animal purposes. The applicable customs codes are 29362100, 29362290, 29362800, 29369000, 29362690, and 29362990.
This measure comes after an application by Piramal Pharma Limited in 2024, which led to an anti-dumping investigation. The duties are effective immediately following their publication in the official gazette.
