Vita Group Achieves 56 Percent Emissions Reduction Celebrates 75 Years with Sustainability Milestones
On June 6, 2025, Europe’s leading supplier of soft polyurethane foam solutions, Vita Group, unveiled its 2024 Sustainability Report, highlighting groundbreaking achievements during its 75th anniversary year.
Key achievements include:
- EcoVadis Platinum Rating, placing Vita in the top 1% of global companies for sustainability.
- Transition to 100% renewable electricity across all operations.
- 99.3% waste-to-landfill diversion rate, nearing zero landfill status.
- Launch of Orbis ULTRA, a foam material with 95% recycled content, revolutionizing the circular economy for polyurethane foam.
Vita’s greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by 56% compared to 2019, surpassing its 2030 target ahead of schedule. The company also reported a record-low Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) of 0.14, underscoring its commitment to workplace safety.
Orbis ULTRA, developed at the UK’s Accrington pilot plant, is a game-changer in sustainable manufacturing. It uses 100% recycled polyol and TDI derived from waste foam, achieving a closed-loop solution that sets new industry standards.
CEO Omar Hoek emphasized that 2024 marked a transformative year, with the company aligning its commercial strategy with environmental goals. “We continue to lead change by exceeding expectations,” said Hoek.
Sustainability Director Natalie Watson highlighted the group’s long-term vision: “While others focus on short-term solutions, we challenge the impossible, driving lasting change.”
