BASF and Toyota Collaborate on European Automotive Refinish Project
BASF Coatings and Toyota Motor Europe have signed an agreement to jointly develop Toyota Body & Paint projects for Europe, laying the foundation for the two companies' long-term strategic cooperation on Toyota and Lexus brands.
The cooperation fully leverages the high-end automotive refinish paint solutions of Glasurit and RM brands in the European market. The Toyota Body & Paint project will use BASF's comprehensive body shop BOOST consulting services and access Refinity®, a cloud-based digital color, business and training solution platform.
Through this collaboration, BASF will support its partner Toyota in achieving their respective sustainability goals while ensuring the highest quality standards for paint repairs on Toyota's premium vehicles.
BASF's Coatings business will ensure the most sustainable and efficient refinishing processes in Europe and focus on increasing business opportunities and strengthening support for Toyota's network, all in line with the principle of continuous improvement.
“We are proud to establish this partnership with Toyota Motor Europe and to supply its European network of body shops with our premium Glasurit and RM automotive refinish brands,” said Chris Jackman, Global Director Automotive Refinish Coatings, BASF.
“Through our collaboration with OEMs and our continued focus on innovation, we have gained a wealth of expertise to ensure the highest accuracy, enhance the customer experience and set the benchmark for refinishing standards in the future of mobility.”
