LG Chem and Jinwei Sign Strategic Deal at SNEC 2025 to Boost Global PV Film Market
During the SNEC 2025 International Photovoltaic Exhibition, LG Chem and Jinwei Intelligent Equipment signed a strategic cooperation agreement to expand their presence in the global photovoltaic (PV) encapsulant market. The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Eung-joo, General Manager of LG Chem Shanghai Branch, and Sun Fenglin, President of Jinwei Intelligent Equipment.
Jinwei, a leading Chinese supplier of PV encapsulant production equipment, operates in over 60 countries, including France, Russia, and South America. Known for its advanced technology, Jinwei has built a strong position in the global PV encapsulant equipment market. Meanwhile, LG Chem, a global leader in POE and EVA resin production, offers materials with annual POE capacity of 390,000 tons, enabling photovoltaic modules to perform reliably under harsh outdoor conditions.
PV encapsulants, essential for binding PV cells, glass, and back sheets, improve energy efficiency and ensure module durability. With the surge in global demand for renewable energy, the need for high-performance PV encapsulants is rising rapidly. The market primarily features POE, EVA, and co-extruded EPE films.
Under the agreement, LG Chem will leverage its high-quality POE and EVA resins, while Jinwei will apply its cutting-edge manufacturing technology to develop innovative PV encapsulant products. Together, they aim to meet growing market demand, deliver advanced solutions, and create new growth opportunities in renewable energy.
This collaboration sets the stage for mutual growth through resource sharing, market expansion, and product innovation, enhancing both companies' competitiveness in the PV encapsulant market. It also aligns with the global push for sustainable energy, contributing to the advancement of the photovoltaic industry.
