Sailun Spends 265 Million Yuan to Acquire Bridgestone Shenyang Tire Plant Adds 1.7 Million Annual Capacity

ECHEMI 2025-07-17

On July 14, Sailun Tire announced the 265-million-yuan acquisition of Bridgestone (Shenyang) Tire Co., Ltd., marking a major expansion in its production footprint. The deal, signed with Bridgestone (China) Investment, gives Sailun full ownership of the historic Shenyang factory, which was Bridgestone’s first tire plant in China, launched in 1996.

With land rights of 394,900 m² and facilities covering over 200,000 m², the plant previously offered an annual capacity of 1.7 million radial truck tires. Bridgestone had ended operations in January 2024, exiting China’s commercial vehicle tire business to refocus on premium passenger car tires.

Sailun plans to restructure management and redevelop the assets to align with its strategic goals. The acquisition is expected to rapidly boost Sailun’s production scale, strengthen its domestic and international market presence, and enhance competitiveness. There are no unresolved workforce resettlement issues related to the transaction.
