SIBUR Develops New Polypropylene for Retort Packaging
SIBUR has developed a new polypropylene, SIBEX PPI030CF, for the production of retort packaging for food and animal feed.
Retort packaging is a modern alternative to glass and metal packaging. Compared with traditional materials, this packaging is lighter and more flexible, which can reduce the cost per unit of finished product and ensure its safety in all links of logistics.
Retort packaging is designed to be sealed, store products without refrigeration, and can withstand high-temperature sterilization up to 120-130°C. The development of the new brand will allow Russian packaging manufacturers to replace imported polypropylene analogs and provide food and animal feed manufacturers with an affordable and technologically advanced localized production solution.
The SIBEX PPI030CF brand has optimized flowability and a specially developed stabilization formula, which allows the production of films with high strength characteristics, excellent welding properties, and guarantees the sealing of the packaging under sterilization conditions and during further use.
