China’s First 50 Green Hydrogen Pipes for 400km Interprovincial Project Roll Off Production Line Pipeline Innovation Accelerates Clean Energy Shift
On July 24, China marked a milestone as the first 50 submerged arc-welded pure hydrogen transport pipes for the Ulanqab to Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei pipeline project were completed in Qinhuangdao by Zhongyou Baoshishun. This demonstration pipeline is the nation’s first large-scale, long-distance, cross-province green hydrogen corridor.
The pipes—custom-engineered for hydrogen delivery—were developed after extensive testing and optimization, using X52MH/X60MH steel. Advanced welding technology ensures ultra-high purity and fine grain structure, minimizing hydrogen embrittlement and providing reliable performance under high-pressure pure hydrogen conditions.
As global energy transitions accelerate, hydrogen is becoming the centerpiece of clean energy strategies. Zhongyou Baoshishun’s achievement not only responds to China’s “dual carbon” climate goals, but also drives innovation for the nation’s green hydrogen infrastructure.
This breakthrough will speed up the deployment of large-scale hydrogen transport, supporting the rapid growth of China’s new energy sector.
