Manali Petrochemicals Triples Propylene Glycol Capacity to 72,000 Tons Annual Output Set to Slash Imports

ECHEMI 2025-07-30

Manali Petrochemicals has officially launched its expanded propylene glycol facility, raising capacity from 22,000 to 72,000 tons per year—more than tripling its previous output. The new plant will begin operations immediately after receiving approval from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board.

This strategic move is designed to drastically cut India’s reliance on imported propylene glycol and better meet the surging demand from both domestic and international industrial clients. The expansion reflects the company’s commitment to the Indian government’s “Make in India” vision by introducing state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities and strengthening the country’s global competitiveness.

Executive Chairman Ashwin Muthiah emphasized, “This modern facility embodies our pledge to sustainability, dynamic customer needs, and market leadership. It’s a major step toward self-reliance, supporting India’s economic recovery by reducing import dependency.”
