Procter & Gamble Raises US Personal Care Prices Due to Tariff Pressure

ECHEMI 2025-08-05

Procter & Gamble will raise prices on approximately 25% of its US personal care and household products in August, citing tariffs that will cost $1 billion annually.

P&G, the maker of Olay, Pantene, Gillette, and Head & Shoulders, plans an average price increase of 2.5% as US consumers have begun cutting back on spending, switching to private labels and relying on credit. Tariff-driven costs are driving up prices for beauty and personal care essentials, and P&G will also restructure its business, lay off 15% of its workforce, and discontinue some products to offset rising expenses.

Rising tariffs and inflation highlight the pressures facing consumer goods manufacturers, and personal care brands may follow suit as consumers become increasingly price-sensitive.
