Venator Launches TMP- and TME-Free Titanium Dioxide
Venator, a supplier of specialty chemicals and ingredients, recently released its newly formulated titanium dioxide pigment, TIOXIDE® TR85. This product is completely free of TMP (methyl triacrylate) and TME (methyl vinyl ether), marking a key step toward meeting evolving regulatory requirements while maintaining the performance standards customers have come to know and trust.
TIOXIDE® TR85 has undergone rigorous commercial-scale testing and has been proven by customers, with some users already experiencing a smooth transition from conventional to TMP-free versions. The product is now officially available. With excellent weathering resistance and outstanding coloration, TR85 is particularly well-suited for primers and waterborne coatings for interior and exterior applications, making it a reliable, high-performance option for coatings manufacturers.
The launch of TR85 is another milestone in Venator's strategy to transition to green chemistry, following the earlier release of TIOXIDE® TR81. Both products are part of the company's ongoing portfolio of innovative TMP- and TME-free titanium dioxide pigments.
Nicolas Joly, Venator's Executive Vice President of Commercial, said: "Our technical team has put tremendous effort behind these products, continuously driving innovation in our coatings portfolio. TR85 is the second product in this new series, and this is just the beginning. We will continue to introduce more high-performance pigments that meet future standards."
This new series not only reflects Venator's deepening commitment to product safety and sustainability, but also demonstrates its responsiveness to the evolving needs of global customers and its technological foresight.
