September 05, News

According to the commodity market analysis system, the TDI market in the East China region continued to decline this week. As of September 5, the average market price in the East China region was 14,100 CNY/ton, while the average price on September 1 was 14,700 CNY/ton, with a weekly price decrease of 4.08%, and a year-on-year increase of 2.92%.

This week, the TDI market in China continued its downward trend. Trading activities within the market were relatively quiet, with a relatively stable supply of goods. The downstream demand was mainly driven by rigid needs, with buyers entering the market when prices were low. Traders' quotations followed the market trend. In the absence of positive news to boost the market and with buyers taking the lead, the transaction price of TDI continued to decline.

Supply side: The TDI unit of Yantai Wanhua in China began a shutdown for maintenance on August 19, with the maintenance expected to last around 40 days. Other units are operating steadily.

Cost aspect: The toluene market in China is generally weak, with moderate trading activity and a lukewarm supply and demand situation.

Looking ahead, the TDI data analyst believes that the current market sentiment for TDI remains weak, with downstream buyers continuing to resist higher prices. As a result, the TDI market is expected to maintain its subdued trend in the near term.
