According to the commodity market analysis system, the toluene market showed little fluctuation from September 8 to September 15, 2025. The benchmark price of toluene was 5,360 CNY/ton on September 8 and remained at 5,360 CNY/ton on September 15, staying flat. During this period, the toluene market in China experienced limited volatility, with slight differences across regions. In Shandong, influenced by the price difference between toluene and xylene, downstream buyers showed increased interest in purchasing toluene, leading to better procurement activity during the week, and the main refineries slightly raised their quotes. The East China market remained stable, with weaker downstream participation. The South China market lacked clear guidance, resulting in minimal fluctuations. Overall, the toluene market showed limited volatility this week.

Cost Perspective: According to the commodity market analysis system, as of September 12, international crude oil futures closed higher. The October contract for U.S. WTI crude oil settled at $62.69 per barrel, while the November contract for Brent crude oil finished at $66.99 per barrel.

Supply side:

Sinopec's toluene production is operating normally, with stable production. Most of the products are for internal use, and the production and sales are balanced. As of September 15, the East China company's quotation is 5,350 CNY/ton, the North China company's quotation is 5,300 CNY/ton, the South China company's quotation is 5,300-5,400 CNY/ton, and the Central China company's quotation is 5,450 CNY/ton.
