NOVA Chemicals Launches PE Resins with Next-Generation Non-Fluoropolymer Processing Aid

NOVA Chemicals Corporation announced the launch of polyethylene (PE) resins featuring its next-generation non-fluoropolymer processing aid (NF-PPA).

Surpass, Sclair, and Novapole PE resins with the new NF-PPA offer comparable performance to traditional fluoropolymer PPA technology, helping manufacturers meet global regulatory compliance standards while minimizing production disruptions.

NOVA Chemicals is one of the first PE producers globally to launch PE grades free of fluoropolymer PPA in 2022.

PPA is used to mitigate melt fracture and prevent material buildup at the die lip during extrusion. This next-generation PPA is compatible with existing resin formulations and enables the production of high-quality film structures without fluoropolymers. NOVA Chemicals' NF-PPA resin technology has received broad regulatory approval in North America, Latin America, the European Union, and China, with additional global approvals in progress as regulations evolve.
