This week, the domestic petcoke market in China fluctuated and rose
October 26, News
According to the commodity analysis system, the domestic petroleum coke market in local refineries showed a fluctuating upward trend this week. As of October 24, the price of petroleum coke in the Shandong market was 2700.75 CNY/ton, an increase of 2.56% from 2633.25 CNY/ton on October 17.
This week, international crude oil futures surged significantly. The main reason was the U.S. government's announcement of sanctions against two major oil giants—Lukoil and Rosneft—triggering a panic-driven supply premium in the market.
This week, the petcoke market of local refineries in China has risen, with refineries actively shipping out. Recently, the prices of petcoke have shown both increases and decreases. Some refineries have adjusted their specifications recently, leading to significant changes in the price of coke according to these adjustments; downstream buyers are purchasing actively, providing support to the petcoke market, and refinery shipments are still acceptable. Last week, some imported petcoke was in short supply, and traders suspended their quotations. This week, the shipments of petcoke from ports are still acceptable, and the price of sponge coke has increased, with the market transactions remaining active.
This week, the price of high-sulfur calcined coke in China has risen, with the continuous increase in the price of raw material petroleum coke, putting significant pressure on the cost of calcined coke, and downstream buyers are being cautious with their purchases.
Market Forecast: Currently, petroleum coke transactions remain steady, and downstream demand continues to support the market, suggesting that petroleum coke prices are likely to see a slight increase in the near term.
