LANXESS Expands Rubber Additives Production at Qingdao Plant
On November 11, 2025, LANXESS celebrated the expansion of its Qingdao plant to meet the growing demand for locally manufactured rubber additives. The event was attended by Michael Rockel, President of LANXESS Greater China, and Zhang Lei, Plant Manager of Qingdao, among other executives.
Michael Rockel emphasized that this investment will further enhance the company’s supply capabilities, enabling high-quality local solutions for Chinese customers. The expansion involves upgrading production lines for processing additives and pre-dispersed masterbatch products. Once completed, both production lines will see a 50% increase in capacity.
The V4 production line will focus on processing additives such as Rhein Chemie® and Rhein Plast®, while the V8 line will produce pre-dispersed masterbatch products, including Rhein Ener® and Rhein Force®. Established in 1995 in Qingdao’s Licang District, the plant’s products are primarily used in rubber tires, enhancing product consistency and quality for industrial and consumer applications.
