LANXESS Launches ISCC PLUS-Certified Version of Additin RC 2515 Lubricant Additive
In a significant step toward sustainable industrial chemistry, LANXESS has introduced a newly certified version of its well-established lubricant additive Additin RC 2515, now bearing the ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) label. This upgraded formulation contains over 80% renewable feedstock, fully compliant with ISCC PLUS verification protocols.
The new product enables full traceability throughout the supply chain and undergoes independent third-party auditing—offering lubricant manufacturers verifiable data to support their own climate commitments. Compared to the conventional version, the ISCC PLUS-certified additive reduces its product carbon footprint (PCF) by 34%, empowering customers to produce more climate-friendly end products.
This variant also carries LANXESS’s Scopeblue designation, reserved for products that either contain at least 50% recycled or bio-based content or demonstrate a significantly lower carbon footprint than traditional alternatives. Technically, the additive retains its hallmark performance: high lubricity, moderate sulfur activity, and excellent compatibility with non-ferrous metals such as brass and bronze—making it ideal for demanding extreme-pressure applications involving sensitive alloys.
With this launch, LANXESS reinforces its leadership in sustainable specialty chemicals, providing tangible tools for industries to meet tightening environmental regulations and consumer expectations without compromising performance.
