November Ethyl Acetate Prices First Decline Then Rise in China

ECHEMI 2025-12-02

December 1st News

According to the commodity market analysis system, as of November 30, the average production price of ethyl acetate in China was 5,376.67 CNY/ton, a decrease of 60 CNY/ton compared to the beginning of the month at 5,436.67 CNY/ton, with an overall price decrease of 1.10%. The prices of raw materials have risen strongly, increasing cost pressure. Downstream demand is weak, and companies are experiencing poor sales, leading to a weak market for ethyl acetate.

Market Analysis: This month, the ethyl acetate market initially experienced a downward trend before rebounding. In the first half of the month, ethyl acetate prices continued to decline, mainly due to the resumption of maintenance shutdowns, which led to an increase in market supply. At the same time, downstream demand remained sluggish, and market sentiment turned bearish, causing ethyl acetate prices to keep falling. However, toward the end of November, downstream buyers stepped up their inquiries and procurement activities. Coupled with a sharp rise in raw material prices, companies became increasingly inclined to raise their prices, prompting the ethyl acetate market to halt its decline and begin rebounding.

According to the commodity market analysis system, as of November 30, the price of acetic acid was 2550.00 CNY/ton, which is a 5.37% increase compared to 2420.00 CNY/ton at the beginning of the month. During the month, the price of acetic acid showed a strong upward trend. The operating rate of acetic acid production in China continuously declined, and companies kept raising their quotes. Downstream purchases followed demand, and the cost pressure had a suppressing effect on the acetic ester market in China.

Looking ahead, the current inventory of ethyl acetate in China is high, and downstream demand is weak. The market for acetic acid, which is a raw material, is relatively strong, providing some psychological support. However, the overall market fundamentals are poor, and the atmosphere within the market is cautious. It is expected that the ethyl acetate market in China will see a weak and consolidative trend next month. Specific attention should be paid to changes in supply-side facilities and the follow-up situation of downstream demand.
