Maoming Petrochemical refining transformation project was officially approved！

The total investment is about 4.97 billion yuan.Maoming Petrochemical refining transformation and upgrading project was officially approved！

On August 6, the Ecology and Environment Bureau of Maoming city in Guangdong Province announced the approval document of the Refining Transformation and Upgrading Project of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation Maoming Branch on its website.On July 28, Maoming Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment made public the proposed approval, only 8 working days from the official approval.

Maoming Petrochemical was founded in May 1955. It was one of 156 key projects during the first five Year Plan of new China.After 66 years of development, Maoming Petrochemical has successively built "the first ten-million-ton oil refining base in China" and "the first million-ton ethylene base in China", and has become one of the largest integrated refining and chemical enterprises in China.

At present, Maoming Petrochemical has  crude oil processing capacity of 20 million tons/year, and  ethylene production capacity of 1.1 million tons/year. At the same time, maoming Petrochemical has  complete supporting system, such as port, railway transportation, crude oil and refined oil pipeline and 300,000-ton single point mooring offshore crude oil unloading system.It has processed 467 million tons of crude oil, produced 19.39 million tons of ethylene, and supplied more than 300 million tons of refining and chemical products to the national production. And it has contributed more than 480 billion yuan in profits and taxes, and ranks among the top tax-paying enterprises in Guangdong province in terms of annual tax payers.

It is understood that the total investment of the project is about 496798 million yuan.On the premise of maintaining the existing refining capacity of Maoming Petrochemical, the transformation and upgrading will be carried out on the basis of the existing refinery facilities.The main construction contents include:3 million tons/year catalytic cracking unit, 300,000 tons/year alkylation unit, 150,000 tons/year MTBE unit, 200,000 tons/year environmental protection rubber oil unit and 80,000 tons/year wax oil hydrotreating unit,  the existing storage 、 transportation facilities and public works will be built and renovated.  

At the same time, maoming Ecological Environment Bureau made public the approval decision on the environmental impact assessment document of bohe New Port to Maoming Oil products pipeline project of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation Maoming Branch.
