In the lithium battery industry chain, lithium carbonate (Li₂CO₃) and lithium hydroxide (LiOH) are two core basic lithium salts that support the mass production of cathode materials. Their physical and chemical properties, process compatibility, and application scenarios have essential differences, making them key upstream factors that determine the differentiation of lithium battery technology routes, performance levels, and cost structures in China. The differentiation in the application of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide is an inevitable result of technological iteration, scenario segmentation, and cost stratification in China's lithium battery industry. There is no absolute superiority or inferiority in performance between the two; there only exists a precise difference in scenario suitability.
