Shandong Shenghua Guohong plans to build a 100,000 tons/year dimethyl carbonate project

On August 16, the environmental impact assessment information public announcement published on the official website of Shandong Shida Shenghua Chemical Group Co., Ltd. disclosed that Shandong Shenghua Guohong New Materials Co., Ltd. plans to build a 100,000 tons/year gas phase carbonylation to synthesize dimethyl carbonate project.

According to the announcement, the total investment of the project is about 1.17 billion yuan, partly relying on the existing public auxiliary projects and environmental protection projects, to build two sets of 50,000 tons/year gas phase carbonylation to synthesize dimethyl Carbonate, and at the same time by-produce dimethyl oxalate.

The project is constructed in two phases, both of which use methanol oxidative carbonylation production process, including Nitric Oxide (NO) preparation section, Dimethyl Carbonate (DMC) synthesis section, methyl nitrite (MN) synthesis regeneration section, and dimethyl carbonate Ester (DMC) distillation section, methanol recovery section, etc.; in addition, the project will build a new VOCs treatment device.
