On September 18, the three-day Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 concluded successfully in Jakarta, Indonesia. The exhibition attracted over 24,000 professional visitors, a larger scale than previous editions. As an important professional exhibition in Southeast Asia's food ingredients industry, Fi Asia Indonesia brought together companies and professional buyers from food ingredients, nutrition and health, food processing, and other sectors, providing face-to-face communication opportunities for global suppliers entering the Indonesian and Southeast Asian markets.

During the exhibition, industry attention to food safety, product quality, nutritional value, and ingredient innovation became key topics of on-site discussion.

Rose Chitanuwat, ASEAN Regional Portfolio Director at Informa Markets, said during the exhibition, "The development trends of the food and beverage industry are becoming increasingly diverse, and technology and consumer expectations are constantly changing. The industry needs a communication space that can provide a broader perspective."

Adhi S. Lukman, Chairman of the Indonesian Food and Beverage Association (GAPMMI), called for further investment in the food ingredients sector during the exhibition. He said, "Investment in food ingredients and intermediate products will become an important factor driving the growth of Indonesia's food and beverage industry," and expressed hope that global ingredient companies participating in the exhibition would further consider investing in Indonesia or cooperating with local companies.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's food industry is also raising its requirements for product quality and food safety. Lukman stated that food and beverage companies now "no longer just meet minimum regulatory requirements" but also need to further improve product quality, food safety levels, and nutritional value.

The product trends revealed at this edition of Fi Asia Indonesia were more specific than the simple concept of "big health." Surveys of multiple exhibitors found that sugar reduction, functional formulations, protein, dietary fiber, prebiotics, and clean label became important topics at this exhibition. At the same time, Indonesia's Halal certification, regulatory requirements, climate conditions, and product shelf life are also influencing food companies' formulation development.

Global food ingredient giant Ingredion further pointed out at the exhibition that Southeast Asian food companies' demand for ingredients is shifting from single ingredients to ingredient systems. After reducing sugar or salt, the taste, texture, and cost of products are affected, and companies need to readjust the entire formulation through combinations of multiple ingredients.
