This Week China's Titanium Dioxide Market Rises (3.1-3.6)
March 6th, news:
I. Price Trends
Take the sulfate-process rutile-type titanium dioxide powder—whose sales volume is relatively high in the Chinese market—as an example. According to data monitoring, the Chinese titanium dioxide market has seen an upward trend this week. Last Friday, the average market price of titanium dioxide was 13,900 CNY per ton. This Friday, the average price rose to 14,160 CNY per ton, representing an increase of 1.87%.
2. Market Analysis
This week, the Chinese titanium dioxide market welcomed a price increase at the beginning of the year. According to incomplete statistics, a total of 28 companies in and outside of China have issued letters announcing price hikes. Starting from March 2nd, leading companies in China announced increases, with other manufacturers following suit. This includes multiple titanium dioxide companies such as Lomon Group, Titanos Chemicals, Guangdong Huicloud, Ningbo Xinfu, Yunnan Datonghui, Shandong Dawn Titanium Industry, and Panzhihua Zhongxing Titanium Industry. Three international titanium dioxide giants, Chemours, Tronox, and Kronos, have also issued notices that, starting from April 1st, the price of titanium dioxide will increase by $150 per ton.
So far, the tax-inclusive factory price of rutile titanium dioxide in China is 13,500-14,800 CNY/ton, and the tax-inclusive factory price of anatase titanium dioxide is 12,300-12,500 CNY/ton; Chinese titanium dioxide companies are gradually adjusting their new order prices, downstream factories are mainly purchasing based on rigid demand, and they are cautious about signing new price orders, with the market mostly in a wait-and-see mode.
3. Future Market Forecast
Titanium dioxide analysts believe: This week, the Chinese titanium dioxide market has risen. Titanium dioxide inventories are not high, and companies' quotations are firm, but there is a clear wait-and-see attitude from downstream buyers, with demand mainly driven by necessity. It is expected that in the short term, the titanium dioxide market will mainly maintain a firm operation, with actual transaction prices negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
