Axalta and Tau Industrial Robotics clarify curing

Users of insulating materials from Axalta can now monitor and record the drying consistency of the coatings produced using the newly developed Lilit (Light Online Insulation Testing).

Lilit is the product of Italian technology company Tau Industrial Robotics. It provides reliable and accurate testing methods for functional polymers, such as those used as synthetic resins in coatings.

This test ensures that the coating maximizes its full quality potential at the optimum degree of polymerization. High-performance technology machines such as motors require accurate and comprehensive quality control of the ideal solidification of insulating materials in the manufacturing process.

Modern composite technology includes self-adhesive technology for motor production, which is particularly sensitive. These require the highest quality control to meet the high requirements of reliability and cost efficiency.

Before the development of Lilit, the aggregation process could not be fully monitored and recorded. The non-contact non-destructive on-line testing method for coil coating, which is the standard for coating process of electrical steel, is not technically feasible.
