Seafood prices may rise in Xiamen during the off-season fishing season on May 1

From 12:00 on May 1, Xiamen will usher in this year's off-season fishing season. At present, the policy of fishing suspension time, target and relevant requirements in Xiamen sea area has also been put forward. Yesterday, the morning newspaper reporter learned from Xiamen Fishing Port Fishing Vessel Administration that, like last year, this year's fishing suspension time is from 12:00 on May 1 to 12:00 on August 16. Among them, from 12:00 on May 1 to 12:00 on August 1, light purse seine, netting and gill netting operations are prohibited; from 12:00 on May 1 to 12:00 on August 16, trawling and miscellaneous fishing gear operations are prohibited. Auxiliary fishing vessels serving fishing vessels were also suspended until 12:00 on 16 August. A few days ago, Xiamen Fishing Port and Fishing Vessel Administration held a special deployment meeting on fishing suspension in the summer season, which comprehensively opened the preparatory work for fishing suspension in the summer season. "We should attach great importance to the completion of high standards," Xiamen Fishing Port Fishing Vessel Management Office will continue to strictly implement the practice of summer fishing suspension in previous years.
According to the requirements, all fishing vessels shall return to the port, wharf or shelter where the fishing vessel is located before the end of the summer fishing season to stop fishing. During the end of the summer fishing season, they shall not leave the port or change their berthing place without authorization; the fishing gear of the fishing vessel shall be tied up, removed from the vessel, put into storage or sealed in a fixed position such as the vessel holds; all fishing vessels shall not bring fishing gear for the end of fishing season to enter the port or shelter. In addition to maintaining daily needs, no fishing vessel may add water, ice or fuel without authorization during the off-season fishing season. Those who seriously violate the off-season fishing system will be listed on the "blacklist" and dealt with strictly, expeditiously and again.
According to previous years'experience, after entering the off-season fishing season, many offshore fishing seafood will be greatly reduced, and the price will also rise, mainly involving shrimp, crab, tuna, mackerel, pomfret and other fish species. In addition, seafood caught off the coast of Xiamen will also be greatly reduced, such as barangfish, hairtail, cuttlefish, squid and so on.
However, the public has other aquatic products to choose from. For example, there is still sufficient supply of all kinds of ice and fresh aquatic products on the market, and shellfish will enter the most fertile season in the near future. In addition, the public can also taste wild yellow fin fish, black bream, grouper and so on. Of course, the prices of related aquatic products may rise.
