Green agricultural landscape along the 'belt and road' line

On April 18, the permanent mission of China to the United Nations held a high-level meeting with the United Nations Department of economic and social affairs in United Nations Headquarters, New York, on the "grass belt technology": the "belt and road" initiative to promote the substantive contribution of the United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda for 2030.
Fungus-grass technology has received wide acclaim in the United Nations
Espinosa, President of the 73rd session of the General Assembly, Viotti, Director of the Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Liu Zhenmin, Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, attended the meeting. About 200 high-level representatives from Lesotho, Laos, Nigeria, Madagascar, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Central Africa attended.
Ambassador Ma Zhaoxu, permanent representative of China to the United Nations, said at the meeting that the "one belt and one way" initiative focused on developing this fundamental issue, promoted all-round interconnection and interrelated relations, helped the countries concerned to break the bottleneck of development and implemented the sustainable development agenda in 2030, thus becoming an important way to promote economic growth in the world.
The President of the General Assembly, Maria Espinosa, said that mycorrhizal technology had made important contributions to the achievement of several UN sustainable development goals, including poverty eradication, clean energy, gender equality and protection of ecological diversity. She also said that the technology has made outstanding contributions to helping the most needy vulnerable groups, such as farmers, women, children and the disabled.
Ben Kuang Kan Pengheng, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, delivered a speech at the meeting: "Fungus and grass technology can not only promote poverty reduction, but also is becoming one of the alternative technologies for sustainable agricultural development in Laos, for which the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has established a fungus and grass Committee led by the Deputy Minister."
Lesotho Minister of Agriculture and Food Safety, Malapur, said: "Many experts from Lesotho's agricultural sector have come to China for short-term or long-term training on fungus and grass technology. By establishing a central mushroom seed base, the mushroom cultivation scale in Lesotho has expanded from four regions to 10 regions.
Technology is a model of green agriculture on the "one belt and one way".scientists at Fujian Agriculture And Forestry University in China have made many experiments and research, and the technology of developing grass has been able to produce 300-500 tons of fresh grass per year using 1 hectares of land. Fresh grass can be used to feed cattle and sheep, and can also be used to cultivate 54 kinds of fungi. The annual output value of a hectare mushroom farm is about $300,000, providing at least 30 jobs. Replacing Wood Mushroom with grass to realize the recycling production of grass, fungi and livestock. The key advantage of fungus-grass technology lies in its short growth period, fast profit and no pollution to the environment, which effectively solves the contradiction between farming and animal husbandry for land. Fungus grass is not only the feed for animal husbandry, but also the material for cultivating mushrooms. It can also be used as fuel to reduce deforestation. The grass has been implemented in more than 100 countries along the "one belt and one road". Thousands of local farmers have greatly improved their living standard and improved their living conditions through training and cultivating edible fungi and engaging in related industries.
