MAP Exports Decreased Significantly in November, But the Total Volume was Still Large
In November 2021, China's exports of monoammonium phosphate were about 76,100 tons, down about 157,100 tons, or 67.37%. This is a decrease of about 177,300 tons, or 69.97%, from the same period last year, and also the lowest monthly export volume since March last year. Since the news of the inspection of China's fertilizer export law was implemented on October 15, the export orders of domestic enterprises have been greatly reduced. Despite the rise of international demand and price, domestic export restrictions have been imposed, and the export volume has decreased significantly since September.
From January to November 2021, China's total export of monoammonium phosphate was about 3.76 million tons, 1.23 million tons higher than last year's total export of 2.53 million tons, an increase of about 48.62%. This year, the volume of export orders concentrated in the first half of the year, export shipments decreased significantly after September, and the international demand around August slowed down. In addition, the news of China's export restrictions spread, enterprises and traders were cautious and suspended orders.
In terms of monthly exports of Monoammonium phosphate in 2021, 8 out of the first 11 months increased year-on-year, and the year-on-year growth rate was obvious from April to September, especially from June to August. Since the fourth quarter of last year, the international demand has been strong, especially the largest demand. Brazil has a positive expectation for grain, and the planting area has increased, increasing the import of monoammonium phosphate. From January to November, the total import has exceeded 50,000 tons of last year, and Brazil's import of monoammonium phosphate from China has increased significantly.
