PetroChina And Sinopec Set Up New Institutions One After Another! Focus On Downstream Technological Changes!
On February 18, PetroChina announced in Beijing that the PetroChina Molecular Management Innovation Consortium was officially established. On the same day, Sinopec also established a new Sinopec Catalyst (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. and settled in Tianjin. The same is that both companies focus on downstream refining technology.
China Petroleum
On February 18, the inaugural meeting of PetroChina Molecular Management Innovation Consortium was held in Beijing. It was announced at the meeting that the China Petroleum Molecular Management Innovation Consortium was officially established.
PetroChina attaches great importance to the innovation of molecular management. At the PetroChina Technology and Information Technology Innovation Conference held in September 2021, molecular management was listed as one of the top ten scientific and technological innovation areas of PetroChina during the 14th Five-Year Plan. (Molecular management technology is a fundamental and disruptive technology in the petroleum and petrochemical industry. By improving the understanding of molecules and simulating and optimizing the oil processing process, the molecular value of crude oil can be fully explored and the efficient utilization of crude oil resources can be realized.)
In order to accelerate the research on key technologies of molecular management and the integrated collaborative research and development of key projects, China Petroleum Planning Institute, as the leading unit of molecular management technology research, cooperated with Dushanzi Petrochemical Company, Jinxi Petrochemical Company, Fushun Petrochemical Company, Lubricating Oil Company, Petroleum Chemical Research Institute, Huanqiu Engineering Company, Kunlun Shuzhi Company 7 brother units, as well as Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China University of Petroleum (Beijing), China University of Petroleum (East China), East China University of Science and Technology, Dalian University of Technology, East China Normal University, Ten domestic and foreign universities and research institutes, China University of Mining and Technology, University of Manchester, and Pearl River Delta Research Institute of Tsinghua University, jointly established the China Petroleum Molecular Management Innovation Consortium.
The establishment of PetroChina Molecular Management Innovation Consortium is not only an important measure to thoroughly implement the national innovation strategy, but also an important practice to promote enterprise-school cooperation and integrated innovation, and to enhance the technological innovation capability of enterprises by leveraging the advantages and innovation resources of universities and research institutes. It will further improve the level of cooperation between PetroChina and universities and research institutes and the commercial application efficiency of major research results and innovative technologies, further enhance PetroChina's scientific and technological innovation capabilities, and promote the realization of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance.
PetroChina will be committed to building the molecular management innovation complex into a first-class scientific and technological innovation highland, achievement transformation center, open platform for international cooperation and talent training base, focusing on the technical bottleneck of molecular management technology research and development and refining and chemical business development, and accelerating the establishment of molecular management technology. Manage the technical system, continue to promote the industrial application and demonstration of innovative achievements, continuously improve the core competitiveness of the refining and chemical business, and help build a world-class enterprise with a long-lasting foundation.
Sinopec
On February 18, Sinopec Catalyst (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. held an unveiling ceremony and officially settled in Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinopec Catalyst Co., Ltd. with a registered capital of 620 million yuan. It will fully guarantee the construction and commissioning of the Sinopec Catalyst Co., Ltd. catalyst Tianjin new material production base project.
During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Sinopec Group invested and constructed 11 key projects including ethylene in Nangang Industrial Zone, Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone, with a total investment of 60.3 billion yuan. The construction of Sinopec Tianjin Nangang high-end new material project cluster is a major project to implement the decision and deployment of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and accurately promote the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
As one of 11 key projects, Sinopec Catalyst Co., Ltd. Catalyst Tianjin New Material Production Base Project has a total investment of about 6.5 billion yuan. The project is divided into two phases. The first phase has an investment of about 3.2 billion yuan and covers an area of about 480,000 square meters. There are 7 sets of catalyst production units and supporting auxiliary facilities in total with adsorbents. The second-phase investment is about 3.3 billion yuan, and it mainly produces other new products such as molecular sieves, battery cathode materials and aluminum-based new materials. After the project is fully put into production, the output value will exceed 8.5 billion yuan, helping Nangang Industrial Zone to build a world-class new chemical material base.
Sinopec Catalyst Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinopec Corp., and is a world-renowned manufacturer, supplier and service provider of refining and chemical catalysts. At present, the annual production capacity of the company is 230,000 tons. The existing products include 300 varieties of 6 categories, including oil refining, polyolefin, basic organic raw materials, coal chemical industry, environmental protection catalysts, adsorbents and auxiliary agents.
