Invest 83 Million! AkzoNobel Is Making Great Strides Forward!
Recently, AkzoNobel (or the "Company") announced that it has opened a new global R&D center costing 10 million pounds (about RMB 83.13 million) at its Slough factory in the United Kingdom. more and more.
The facility, which houses 120 experts, will serve as a major hub for the company's global R&D network and help to further enhance AkzoNobel's innovation capabilities, especially in the area of decorative coatings.
This is the latest in a series of centers opened by AkzoNobel to further advance the company's groundbreaking product development. These include an automotive plant in Poland, an application training centre in Dubai, an innovation campus in Flynn, UK, and a global innovation, development and training centre for the marine coatings business in Qatar.
"The opening of this fantastic new center will help us continue our long tradition of pioneering new products and developing more sustainable solutions for our customers through groundbreaking innovation," said Thierry AkzoNobel CEO Thierry Vanlancker said he was present at the official opening today.
"As well as marking the beginning of a new chapter for the UK, it is also a clear signal of our ongoing commitment to pushing the boundaries as part of our workforce. To make a real and lasting change for clients, communities and the world around us."
The opening of the Slough facility follows the 2019 UK launch of the AkzoNobel R&D Innovation Campus in Felling, which is home to some of the company's leading scientists and technologists in marine and protective coatings.
Fiona McLachlan, Technical Director of Color at AkzoNobel, added: "Our paints and coatings have a long tradition in the UK and Ireland, touching every aspect of our daily lives. This modern, fit-for-purpose centre will carry that legacy into the future. This will allow us to further our long-term contribution to the paint and coatings industry, while helping to drive local economies regionally and nationally."
The new center is close to the company's flagship Dulux Academy, a purpose-built facility that, along with the Dulux Decorative Center and the Academy's 12 other locations, provides painters and decorators with expertise to help advance product, application and technical knowledge and understand.
