PLA (polylactic acid)
Unlike traditional plastics, PLA is obtained by refining petroleum and is a non-renewable resource that does not degrade and causes pollution to the environment. PLA is a new type of environmentally friendly plastic, which is synthesised by extracting starch from plants and then fermenting it. It is a renewable resource and can be degraded in nature. It is a truly environmentally friendly plastic.
PLA is very versatile and can be made into sheets with similar properties to PP/PS. It can be used as a substitute for PP/PS related products such as disposable lunch boxes, milk tea cups and packaging boxes. As environmental protection is becoming more and more severe, the demand for environmentally friendly materials is increasing and the future of PLA sheet products is unlimited.
Wanhua Chemical, as a well-known domestic chemical company, has laid out biodegradable materials projects in advance.
At the same time, relying on its R&D platform and talent resources, it continues to carry out product and application innovation, with end-use applications in biodegradable shopping bags, rubbish bags, disposable catering utensils, household daily necessities and other fields.
