This Week's Activated Carbon Prices Rise (11.10-11.14)
November 14, News
According to the commodity market analysis system: At the beginning of the week, the price of activated carbon in China was 12,633 CNY/ton, and by the end of the week, it had risen to 12,666 CNY/ton, representing a price increase of 0.26%.
Chinese coconut shell activated carbon prices from manufacturers increased this week. The factory price for coconut shell activated carbon used for water purification in East China ranges between 9,500 and 13,000 CNY per ton. The strong demand for coconut shell activated carbon in areas such as water treatment, air purification, and sodium-ion batteries supports the price increase. Additionally, extended shipping cycles, increased storage and environmental requirements have pushed up import costs.
In September 2025, the import prices for raw materials were as follows: Indonesia’s carbonized coconut shell material FOB price stood at $1,019 per ton, while India’s was $958 per ton—both representing increases of over 80% compared to the same period in 2024. Southeast Asian countries, major coconut-producing regions, are experiencing a shortage of raw materials due to factors such as natural disasters and policy adjustments. Although some nations have plans to expand production, the tight supply situation is unlikely to ease in the short term, keeping prices elevated.
Prediction: Chinese coconut shell activated carbon is supported by raw material prices, and it is expected that the price of activated carbon will mainly follow a high-level fluctuation trend in the short term.
