Three in A Row! Bio-Thera Announces Another New ADC Drug for Clinical Application

ECHEMI 2022-04-24

On April 22, Bio-Tech's class 1 new drug BAT8010 was submitted for clinical application. The target and category of the drug have not been disclosed yet, but according to Bio-Tech's previous product naming rules, BAT8010 is probably a new ADC drug. This year, Bio-Tech has successively obtained two new ADC drugs for clinical approval.

Bio-Tech has encountered major setbacks in the ADC field. At the beginning of 2021, Bio-Tech terminated 3 new drug projects in succession, including 2 ADCs and 1 PD-1 monoclonal antibody, and the related investment of 340 million yuan was wasted. ADC was once one of the bright spots in Bio-Tech’s pipeline, and the successive failures of the two projects cast a shadow on the company. Bio-Tech also terminated the secondary listing plan on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. There are also rumors that Bio-Tech will follow up Whether to completely withdraw from the development of the ADC field.

However, according to recent developments, Bio-Tech has started anew in the ADC field. BAT8006 and BAT8009 target FRα and B7H3, respectively, which are relatively inaccessible new targets in China with promising potential.
