Use of Nitrogen Gas in Pharmaceutical Industry: Preparation and Storage of Medical Supplies

Another use for nitrogen gas is storing medical equipment. Because it's non-reactive and has a very low rate of chemical binding, nitrogen gas can be used to protect pharmaceutical products from oxidation and spoilage. When a company wants to prolong the life of an injectable medicine, they can add a small amount of nitrogen gas, which will prevent any contaminants from forming within that vial.

It also provides another incredible benefit: Since nitrogen cannot dissolve into liquids or gases, it prevents oxygen and carbon dioxide (both of which are found naturally in air) from mixing with these medicines.

Use as a Selective Plasma Purification Tool
The pharmaceutical industry has used nitrogen plasma to create new drugs for decades, with many other industries following suit.
