Dimethyl Ether
This week, the market price of dimethyl ether is mainly stable and upward. As of May 13, the national average price of dimethyl ether market was 4,388 CNY/ton, which was 33 CNY/ton higher than last Friday, 0.8% higher than the previous month and 14.2% higher than the previous year. This week, Weihua, Shaanxi Province stopped for overhaul, and the volume outside the market was reduced.

PVC
According to stable price indicators, US PVC spot export prices for the week of May 11 were assessed as flat. Prices are assessed at $1,740-$1,750/t FAS Houston. The assessment includes deals of $1,720-$1,730 a tonne reached in May, with an additional $20 a tonne due to higher shipping and storage costs.

This week, the PTA market fluctuated and moved higher. The market price fell first and then rose. The overall market was greatly affected by the price of PX at the cost side. Its own supply and demand were mostly hedged and tended to balance, and the cost side still dominated the market. As of May 12, the spot price of PAT in the East China market was 6,798 CNY/ton, an increase of 253 CNY/ton or +3.87% from last Friday, and the futures spot market prices all rose.

Ethylene Glycol
The Asian ethylene glycol market was volatile this week, with a low of 617 USD/ton, with a high of $630/ton. As China's ongoing blockades and restrictions disrupt normal trade, some ethylene glycol manufacturers said they will reduce operating rates in June. Many naphtha-based MEG plants are currently losing money, but these manufacturers need to fulfill contracts and look for long-term business.
