September 30 report:
According to SpotCom data, as of September 30, the average production price of ethyl acetate in China was 6893.33 CNY/ton, an increase of 963.33 CNY/ton compared to the beginning of the month at 5930 CNY/ton, with an overall price increase of 16.25%. The supply side has had two changes but remained largely stable, while downstream demand remained steady and raw material support was strong, leading to a robust market for ethyl acetate.
Market Analysis: In September, the ethyl acetate market showed a fluctuating upward trend with a clear overall price movement. On the supply side, the operating rate of ethyl acetate remained at a high level, with little change in the market, and the supply of ethyl acetate was relatively abundant. On the demand side, under the traditional peak season, corporate orders increased, and the market trading atmosphere improved, providing good support for the consumption of corporate inventories. The price of acetic acid, the raw material, was strong, continuously increasing the cost of ethyl acetate. With a bullish sentiment among industry players, the transaction focus of ethyl acetate moved up strongly during the month.
According to the Spotcom data, the price of acetic acid in September increased from 3,400 CNY/ton to 4,850 CNY/ton, with an overall price increase of 42.65%. The rise in the price of methanol, which is upstream of acetic acid, directly pushed up the production costs of acetic acid. At the same time, acetic acid companies generally had low inventory levels, and manufacturers were strongly inclined to hold prices firm. Coupled with the traditional peak season support from downstream, the price of acetic acid continued to rise during the month. The increase in raw material prices added to the cost pressure on ethyl acetate, leading to a shift upwards in the price center of ethyl acetate.
Looking ahead, with ample inventories of ethyl acetate, companies are mainly focused on shipping. Currently, the price of ethyl acetate is relatively high, and downstream demand may seek to buy at lower prices, leading to a weaker market trading atmosphere. It is expected that the ethyl acetate market will continue to fluctuate at high levels next month, with a slight decrease in prices. Specific attention should be paid to changes in supply facilities and downstream follow-up situations.
