Nanning has issued intervention policy to limit price of pork

Nanning, Guangxi, implemented a temporary intervention policy on pork prices on September 1. Ten local farmers'markets will sell pork at a limited price. On August 30, Nanning Development and Reform Commission issued the Notice on Implementing Temporary Intervention in Pork Price. Since 9 a.m. on September 1, 10 farm markets in Nanning, including Macun, Huayuan and Guantang, have set up fixed-point stalls to sell pork at limited prices.

According to the above notification, the price-limited pork mainly consists of lean meat, pork, front and rear leg meat, spareribs, and each consumer purchases no more than two kilograms per day. The specific maximum selling price shall be determined by the Nanning Development and Reform Commission at a price lower than 10% of the market average price in the first 10 days, and shall be approved and published once every 10 days.

The website of Nanning Development and Reform Commission issued the Notice of Temporary Intervention Maximum Price of Pork Price in Nanning on September 1, announcing the maximum price of pork temporarily intervened in 10 agricultural markets, such as Macun Agricultural Market, Huayuan Agricultural Market and Guantang Agricultural Market in Nanning from September 1 to 10. Among them, the average price of meat in Dancun market of Nanning City is more affordable, with lean meat 25.8 yuan/kg, front and rear leg meat 21.8 yuan/kg, spareribs 26.6 yuan/kg and pork 21.5 yuan/kg. The monitoring data of Nanning Price Monitoring Center showed that pork prices began to rise in June, and by mid-July, lean meat in some farmers'markets in Nanning exceeded 22 yuan/kg and spare ribs even exceeded 32 yuan/kg. The average retail prices of 22 large-scale farm markets, supermarkets and shopping malls issued by Nanning Price Bureau on August 30 show that lean meat is 30.4 yuan/kg, leg meat is 25.75 yuan/kg, rib meat is 25.98 yuan/kg, rib meat is 32.75 yuan/kg. Affected by African swine fever, since February this year, a large number of pigs in Guangxi have been disposed of, and slaughterhouses in some areas have even been closed down and pork sales have been banned. The decrease in market supply has led to the rise in pork prices.

On August 30, the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region issued a paper saying that Guangxi will start from implementing measures for the prevention and control of African swine fever, stabilizing pig production and ensuring the supply of meat market, timely start the price control plan for live pigs, expand the scale of frozen pork reserve, rationally adjust the throughput rhythm and reduce price fluctuations.
