China's clean emission level of coal power ranks first in the world

Recently, the State Council Office held a press conference on the establishment of 70th anniversary energy development achievements. The meeting revealed that China's clean coal and electricity emissions rank among the top in the world. Li Fulong, Director of the Development Planning Department of the National Energy Administration, said that according to relevant plans, the target of controlling coal-fired power plants to 1.1 billion kilowatts by 2020 was now expected to be achieved. Especially during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, the task of eliminating 20 million kilowatts of backward coal-fired power units has been completed ahead of schedule.
In recent years, China has intensified efforts to promote ultra-low emission of coal-fired power. Now, the coal-fired power units with ultra-low emission have reached 810 million kilowatts, which is the largest ultra-low emission clean energy coal-fired power system in the world. Li Fulong said that under the current situation that coal accounts for a large proportion of the total energy consumption, it is a very good way to develop clean and efficient coal-fired power generation units, reduce bulk coal and increase the proportion of power coal in the coal consumption. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, coal consumption in key areas such as the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei is expected to decrease by 5% to 10% compared with 2015.
