China's total marine economy reached 8341.5 billion yuan.
China's total marine economy reached 8341.5 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth rate of 6.7%, and the marine GDP accounted for 9.3% of the GDP. The reporter learned from China marine economic development report 2019 recently, which was released by the national development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of natural resources at China Marine Economic Expo 2019 held in Shenzhen. As mentioned in the report, under a series of policies and measures to accelerate the development of marine economy, China's marine industrial structure has been continuously optimized, and the "stabilizer" function of marine tertiary industry is more prominent. In 2018, the added value of China's three marine industries accounted for 4.4%, 37.0% and 58.6% of the total marine production, respectively. The structure of the three marine industries maintained the trend of "three, two and one" for six consecutive years. The development momentum of the marine tertiary industry is strong, and its proportion in the marine GDP is 1.1 percentage points higher than that of the previous year. In addition, with the rapid growth of marine foreign trade, the export-oriented characteristics of marine economy are becoming increasingly significant. With the implementation of a series of policies and measures to promote the stable growth of foreign trade in China, the total import and export trade of marine products and key monitoring products in 2018 increased by 11.8% and 14.9% respectively over the previous year. It is also mentioned in the report that China's regional marine economic development is stable and the development trend of marine industry agglomeration is obvious. In 2018, the marine GDP of the three major marine economic circles in the north, East and south of China increased by 7.0%, 8.0% and 10.6% respectively in nominal terms compared with the previous year.
